Αλλάζουν άραγε οι προσδοκίες μας όταν γνωρίζουμε ότι συμμετέχουν καλλιτέχνιδες/ες/ά με αναπηρίες;
Τι περιμένουν οι/τα ίδιες/οι/α οι/τα ερμηνεύτριες/τές/ά με αναπηρίες να δούμε, να ακούσουμε, να νιώσουμε και να σκεφτούμε στην παράστασή τους;
Ποιες είναι οι προσδοκίες μας; Ποιες είναι οι δικές τους; Να ξεπεράσουν τα όριά τους; Να εξισωθούν με καλλιτέχνιδες/ες/ά που δεν έχουν αναπηρίες; Ή μήπως να φέρουν στις παραστατικές τέχνες μια νέα δημιουργική προσέγγιση κι έναν νέο τρόπο έκφρασης που θα αποτελέσει μια καθοριστική εξέλιξη της καλλιτεχνικής πραγμάτωσης και ερμηνείας;
Ποιες είναι οι δικές τους ανησυχίες και οι στόχοι τους; Ποια είναι τα θέματα που επιλέγουν για να δημιουργήσουν;
Φέτος εκφράζουμε αυτήν την επιθυμία: να διερευνήσουμε τα παραπάνω ερωτήματα, να κατανοήσουμε και να γνωρίσουμε καλύτερα την έμπνευση, τη δυσκολία, την εφευρετικότητα, τη θεματολογία και την ερμηνεία καλλιτέχνιδων/εχνών/ά με αναπηρίες, μέσα από μια ποικιλία έργων που φιλοδοξούμε να φιλοξενήσουμε και να απολαύσουμε μαζί στο Akropoditi DanceFest 2026.
Ας μας δώσουμε την ευκαιρία να παρακολουθήσουμε τις δημιουργίες τους, αφιερώνοντας το φετινό μας φεστιβάλ στο έργο τους, δίνοντας χώρο και χρόνο στη φωνή τους αλλά και στον διάλογο των μεταξύ μας φωνών.
Το Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Χορού και Παραστατικών Τεχνών Akropoditi DanceFest, τα τελευταία χρόνια φιλοξενεί σε μόνιμη βάση εργαστήρια κίνησης και έκφρασης για άτομα με και χωρίς αναπηρίες. Με αφορμή το σταθερό και αμείωτο ενδιαφέρον του φεστιβάλ για την ενεργή συμμετοχή ατόμων με αναπηρίες στις παραστατικές τέχνες, επιθυμούμε φέτος να ενθαρρύνουμε και να υποστηρίξουμε καλλιτεχνικά έργα που περιλαμβάνουν αποκλειστικά ερμηνεύτριες/ευτές/ά με αναπηρίες, αλλά και έργα μικτών ομάδων συμπερίληψης, καθώς και έργα που πραγματεύονται το θέμα παραστατικές τέχνες και αναπηρία.

Όλες/οι/α οι/τα καλλιτέχνιδες/ες/ά και ομάδες, επιλεγείσες/έντες/έντα και μη, θα λάβουν ηλεκτρονική απάντηση μέχρι τις 10/01/2026.

What do we expect to see, hear, feel, or think during a performance
Do our expectations change when we know that artists with disabilities are participating?
What do the performers with disabilities themselves expect us to see, hear, feel, or think in their performance?
What are our expectations? What are theirs?
Do we expect to transcend their limits? To be “equal” to artists without disabilities? Or perhaps to enrich the performing arts with new creative perspectives and forms of expression—ones that broaden our understanding of performance-making and presentation.
What are their concerns and goals? What are the themes they choose to explore in their work?
This year, we express the desire to explore these questions—to better understand and become more familiar with their inspiration, the themes they address, and the challenges they face. We look forward to discovering the inventiveness they bring to the performing arts through a variety of works that we will host and experience together at Akropoditi DanceFest 2026.
Let us give ourselves the opportunity to encounter these creations, dedicating this year’s festival to the work of artists with disabilities—offering space and time for their voices to resonate, and for a collective dialogue to emerge.
In recent years, the 'Akropoditi DanceFest' International Dance and Performing Arts Festival has regularly hosted movement and artistic expression workshops for people with and without disabilities. Motivated by the festival’s ongoing and steadfast commitment to the active participation of people with disabilities in the performing arts, this year, we wish to encourage and support artistic works that either are performed exclusively by artists with disabilities, are created by inclusive mixed groups, or engage with the broader theme of performing arts and disability.

Application period starts on 1st November 2025 until 1st December 2025 and all entries should be submitted to the Festival’s official site: akropoditi.com/dancefest
All interested individuals and teams applying for the Festival will have received an electronic response until 10th January 2026, regardless their participation.
